I started a photography group at work and previously met up for a critique session and photo editing session. Yesterday was our first trip out of the building and we went to Bramhall Hall.

The weather breaked at the right time and we had some lovely blue skies and the sun came out too!

Imperial war museum

Imperial war museum, originally uploaded by yatty.

I went back to The Lowry for another dusk shot. I am quite pleased with the outcome from both sets combined.

Processing them was a but more work then usual. I modified the temperature and saturation quite a bit.

I took the second set half a stop down, which seems to help with over exposure of the bright lights.

Helped out Ian again at Garrick. Still a bit down about how good I really am.

I ran out of memory part way through the first act whilst I was near the stage, had to peg it back to my camera bag!

Managed to get some cracking shots!

RPS Workshop Wales

A few of us from the C3 photography group went to a RPS workshop.

Took me ages to print my photos out, including a midnight trip to Tesco to get some printer cartridges!

The critique wasn't great. They only liked 3 of my photos :(

I was a very dishearten, maybe my aspiration is too high!?!

Here's a challenge

C3 photography group met up today.

The challenge is to take 20 photos in 2 hours in Manchester center. Andy took part too with our compact camera.

I was very interesting as we went round Manchester together but ended up with quite different photographs.

A different Kind of View

My brother-in-law got married today, I took along my camera kit and ended up being in photographer mode all day. So I won't be doing that again.

They are very happy with my photos though, which is quite a relief.

A List Star

, originally uploaded by yatty.

Spent Saturday afternoon helping out my friend Ian as an assistant photographer. Sir Ian McKellen was unveiling a blue plaque for Stockport Garrick. He arrived with Anthony Cotton(Corri) and was treated to a tour of the threatre. After inveiing the plaque, followed by the Mayoress unveiling a plaque to commemorate Sir Ian unveiling a plaque. It was back to The Garrick for a history of the threatre, follwed by a unformal Q&A with Sir Ian. He also stayed to have a chat after too.
He's very down to earth and very talented.

A tiring but throughoutly enjoyable day.

A big thanks to Ian for asking me to help.
